Entry requirements

English Requirement (for International Students)

All students entering these qualifications must have an English Language proficiency level of one of the below:

  • IELTS band score of overall 6 (Academic) or equivalent in line with the Department of Education and department of Home Affairs(DHA) Regulations (For International Students) for specific countries,

  or

  • IELTS overall band score of 5.5 when packaged with at least 10 weeks’ English Language Intensive Course for Oversea Students(ELICOS),

or

  • IELTS overall band score of 5 when packaged with at least 20 weeks’ ELICOS,

  or

  • Pearson Test of English Academic – Score 50,

  or

  • Cambridge English: Advanced CAE from Cambridge ESOL Test Scores, 

or

  • TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language paper-based test – Score 60-78

or

  • CELS(all skills) Advanced (English for Academic purposes) certificate from recognised English language centre, 

or

  • Senior secondary Certificate of Education completed in Australia, 

or

  • Certificate IV or higher completed in Australia, 

or

  • Tertiary studies in medium of English

Age Requirements

For all students, SKUP has a requirement that all students must be over 18 years of age at the commencement of course. SKUP will not recruit any under 18 age international student.

Language Literacy Numeracy (LLN) TEST

There are no specific entry qualification requirements for this qualification. However, Skilled Up (SKUP) will conduct LLN entry test on the Orientation day. It is usual for all learners to do LLN test on orientation day to assess their Language, Literacy and Numeracy level. Low level of LLN is not a barrier to get admission in the qualification. SKUP will provide extra resources and support for learner having a low level of LLN. Student willing to continue with SKUP with Low level of LLN need to get extra support which is associated with additional cost (For detail refer to student support policy and procedures) http://www.skilledup.edu.au/policy

Students Visa Requirement (for International Students)

You must provide evidence that satisfies the assessment factors applicable to you to Department of Home Affairs (DOHA).to be granted a student visa. Assessment factors include your financial ability, English proficiency, likely compliance with the conditions of your visa and any other matters considered relevant to assessing your application. Students Currently in Australia (for International Students)

Prospective international students who are currently enrolled with another registered provider can apply for entry to a course at the Institute. In accordance with Standard 7 of National Code 2007 and ESOS Act 2000, they must have completed six months of their study in the principal course of study with their previous registered provider by the time of commencement. The Institute will not knowingly enrol a student who has not completed this requirement.
